About Long Live Companions
Long Live Companions publishes emotionally honest field notes about ordinary life with aging companion animals. It does not borrow a family’s story to imply a treatment result, and it does not turn grief, memory, or care into clinical authority.
01 · Ownership
Different jobs, shared operations.
Long Live Companions, Longer Tails, and Longer With You share operations within the Pet Longevity Network. This publication owns lived experience and rituals. Longer Tails owns evidence interpretation. Longer With You owns practical and commercial paths. Cross-site links are disclosed routes between commonly owned publications, not independent endorsements.
02 · Story provenance
A field note should say what kind of record it is.
Published stories distinguish editorial essays, sourced anecdotes, contributed accounts, and practical ritual notes. A composite, reconstructed, or illustrative account must not present invented detail as a named family’s documentary history. Search intent can shape a title or structure, but it does not outrank emotional truth or source provenance.
03 · Consent
Participation has a scope and a way back out.
A real contributed story or photograph should have recorded permission for the stated use. Names, images, identifying details, and distribution scope are handled separately where needed. Revocation cannot always retrieve copies already downloaded or lawfully archived elsewhere, but the network should stop future controlled use when a valid revocation applies.
04 · Editorial boundaries
Experience can offer recognition, not diagnosis.
Stories can describe what a family noticed or valued. They cannot determine pain, prognosis, quality of life, treatment, or urgency for another animal. Evidence questions route to Longer Tails; practical observation routes to Longer With You; urgent or individual care questions belong with a veterinary professional. Grief resources should point toward qualified support rather than impersonating it.
05 · Media
Illustration is not a family archive.
Generated editorial imagery is illustrative, not documentation of a real companion, family, rescue, photographer, or event. If photorealism could create that confusion, the illustrative status should remain adjacent or the asset should be replaced. Real contributed photographs require provenance and the relevant permission.
06 · Corrections
Correct the record without erasing its history.
Factual errors, attribution problems, broken source context, and consent concerns are reviewed promptly. Material corrections should be dated at the affected page. Send the URL and specific concern to editorial@longerwithyou.com.
